Here's a couple of bills you might want to keep your eye on and, if
you are so inclined, support. These are all supported by the BCLC.
This is the BCLC autism bill:
House Bill 63--Services for Autistic Persons, sponsored by Joni
Gutierrez
These are bills that a coalition, NMATS, has been working on all
year. Several BCLC members have been participants in the process.
The Safe House Act would create non-hospital, peer support, respite
houses for people with behavioral health struggles who need a safe
place to be but don't want to be in a hospital. The Quick Response
Team bill would create a system of responders that would include peer
support and mental health professionals, so that there would be an
alternative to police response when folks are struggling.
House Bill 123--Safe House Act, sponsored by Nathan Cote
House Bill 225--Quick Response Team, sponsored by Nathan Cote
This memorial would create a task force to look at housing first, a
successful program that saves money and assists people who are
experiencing homelessness by providing housing.
Senate Memorial 2--Housing First Task Force, sponsored by Jerry Ortiz y
Pino
