Hello from your new coordinator

Hi all!

My name is Lori Summers and I am the new Community Forestry
Coordinator for Lake Oswego. I will be serving in this position for 11
months (until August 2009) and hope to get to know some of you over
the course of my term here. I hope to continue promoting the Heritage
Tree program, starting with a couple designation ceremonies happening
in October and November. I will keep you all informed about those
ceremonies and other events as I find out more details. I also want to
plan some workshops and stewardship projects which could be heavily
influenced by your input. What kind of urban forestry information and/
or training sessions would your community benefit from? Do you have
any ideas for stewardship projects that your community could
contribute to such as tree plantings, tree mainenance, or other
projects that promote urban forest health and increased canopy cover?
