Did you know that Community College staff, faculty, and students can get legal assistance regarding immigration?
As part of its work, the Immigrant Legal Resource Center | ILRC  has launched an awareness campaign in support of the Higher Education Legal Services Project, which brings legal service providers together who can help qualified community college students, faculty, and staff with case support, DACA renewals, citizenship applications, permanent resident renewals, advance parole, and more complicated needs such as Special Immigrant Juvenile Status and Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) protections.

Simply visit FindYourAlly.com. Choose your status, be it student, faculty, or staff member, and you can even view the page in different languages. Enter your zip code, too. Next, you'll see a list of campuses near you where the services are offered, as well as which ones offer online consultations.

MiraCosta College is excited to announce five open positions to join our Student Equity Department on our Academic Success & Equity (ASE) Programs team. These roles are designed to support our disproportionately impacted student populations as identified in our Student Equity Plan.
What you’ll do:
Under general supervision, you’ll assist with planning and implementing ASE programs and the coordination of Social Justice and Equity Centers, provide front-line support to students, and offer specialized program information, assistance, and culturally responsive guidance. You’ll collaborate with student services and instructional departments, help plan events, and maintain program information in databases.
Who we’re looking for:
  • Graduation from an associate degree program and one year of closely related work experience in student services; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred and may be required to advance to higher levels in the class series.

  • Experience supporting diverse student populations in community college settings, particularly Black and African American, Latine, LGBTQIA+, undocumented/mixed status, and system-impacted students.

MiraCosta College is most interested in finding the best candidates to support our diverse student population. We encourage you to apply even if you don’t believe you meet every one of the "desirable qualifications" listed.
If you’re passionate about equity, student success, and building programs that make a difference, we’d love to see your application.
