Applications Support Specialist

 

 

Roll Law Group P.C., a law corporation consisting of 40 attorneys and supporting secretaries, paralegals and administrators represents blue-ribbon clients such as FIJI Water, Teleflora, POM Wonderful, Paramount Farms, Paramount Citrus, and Suterra.

The Applications Support Specialist will provide software support to the attorneys and staff of Roll Law Group. He/she must be a self-starter who will work with both Information Technology and the RLG Director of Administration to ensure that all software applications are updated and all employees receive the necessary training. He/she must have experience working in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment, be organized, display exceptional communication and people skills, maturity in handling business and confidential situations and be detail-oriented.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Provide software training to current employees and new hires

·         Support and troubleshoot application servers

·         Work on special projects to upgrade current software or consider new software packages to support the firm

·         Interact with software vendors and consultants

·         Configure computers for new hires, loaners, and special projects

·         Gain thorough understanding of all applications and how users interact with them

Job Requirements :

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

·         A minimum of 5+ year experience in a law firm support or training department

·         Superior organizational and oral and written communication skills

·         Superior PC skills (knowledge of legal specific software, including document management software, time and billing software, litigation support software, etc.)

·         Knowledge of Time Matters, Worldox, PC Law preferred

·         Basic understanding of Active Directory

·         Basic understanding of Windows Server (2003/2008) environments

·         Basic network troubleshooting skills and knowledge of commands (PING, TELNET)

·         Proficiency in Remote access technologies (i.e. Citrix, RAS, VPN)

·         Expert knowledge in troubleshooting desktop hardware/software

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

·         Requires a high degree of tact, initiative, accuracy, judgment and superior interpersonal skills, a thorough understanding of business and legal practices and procedures

·         Ability to effectively interact with all levels of management

·         A polished individual who likes a challenge and can contribute their talents to our team environment

·         Professional appearance and positive attitude

EDUCATION:

·         A+ (Preferred)

·         MCP Desktop Support Technician (Preferred)
