McDermott Will & Emery, a leading international law firm, has a unique
opportunity for a Regional IT Manager to manage and oversee all
Information Technology related operations for its West Coast offices,
to include Silicon Valley, Los Angeles and Orange County. This role
is a combination of management responsibilities and hands-on technical
support responsibilities.
Managerial Responsibilities to include:
Management of technical support staff to ensure timely resolution of
technology issues
Define and document firm-wide hardware standards, policies and
procedures (working collaboratively with team of IT Regional Managers)
Prepare capital and expense budgets for regional offices (working
collaboratively with local office administrators and firm-wide
managers)
Recruiting, mentoring and training of technical support staff
Performance counseling and annual performance reviews of technical
support staff
Demonstrated leader with strong leadership and change management
skills
Strong interpersonal and client relationship skills
Regular travel between west coast offices [up to 25%]
Technical responsibilities for local office to include:
Set up and maintain desktop PCs, notebooks, printers, scanners,
projectors and other equipment (ie, mobile devices)
Hardware and software installation, maintenance and troubleshooting
Experience with hardware and software rollouts and piloting
Initiate or coordinate video and telephone conferences
Provide setup assistance and support to visiting attorneys and clients
Maintain asset inventory
Server backups, restores, security monitoring
Ensure data and network security measures are implemented and
maintained
Attend training classes to stay current on technology
Create and update IT department documentation as needed
Knowledge and Skills Requirements: Office Suite 2010, Windows 7,
Remote Access, VPN, Active Directory, Citrix Exchange, Cisco VoIP
Phones, Blackberry, Droid, iPhones, Printers. Ticketing System.
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 3 years previous
management experience in a regional or firmwide role within a law firm
or professional services environment and a minimum of 7-10 years of IT
experience to include end-user support, hardware and software
installation and project management. Candidates must possess
excellent written and verbal communication skills, have demonstrated
analytical abilities, be detail oriented, proactive, self-directed and
able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
