Hello TIC Teachers!

We hope you had a wonderful and safe break and that you and your students are getting excited for your upcoming trout releases!

If you still need to schedule your trout release, please contact me ASAP at mhac...@dep.nyc.gov. Available release dates with TIC assistance are extremely limited!

As a reminder, if you are releasing in Region 3 (Duchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster, and Westchester counties) please fill out your Trout Release Permit Application if you have not already done so. Applications are due by March 13th!

If you are releasing in Region 4 (Albany, Columbia, Delaware, Green, Montgomery, Otsego, Rensselaer, Schenectady, and Schoharie counties) please contact Jackie Trosterud.

For all other regions, please contact your local TU chapter or NYS DEC directly to obtain a release permit.

We also wanted to remind you about our upcoming Spring Conference at Solar One’s New Environmental Education Center at Stuyvesant Cove Park in Manhattan. If you would like to attend, please register using this link.

Lastly, we understand the challenges that arise after returning to your trout from a long break. If you have lost all of your trout, or a significant amount, and are in need of assistance in obtaining more trout before your release, please contact me at mhac...@dep.nyc.gov.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Best,

Mackenna Hackimer | Trout in the Classroom Coordinator | NYC Environmental Protection
