Dear TIC teachers, educators, and friends,
Happy (almost) spring! Trout releases are beginning at the end of this month, and I’m sure many of you are already starting to solidify your trip plans. In the attached newsletter you will find tips for your release day, as well as another reminder to submit your Permit Application Form for Region 3 by next Friday, March 13th.
If you are releasing in Region 4 (Albany, Columbia, Delaware, Green, Montgomery, Otsego, Rensselaer, Schenectady, and Schoharie counties) applicants must contact Jackie Bellinger directly. Trout releases taking place in all other regions must submit an application to the appropriate NYS DEC regional office. Remember that the stocking permit does not grant you permission for site use.
Lastly, our TIC Spring Teacher Conference is this coming Tuesday, March 10th at Solar One’s Environmental Education Center in Manhattan. We still have some open spaces, so please register here if you are able to attend.
Please feel free to reach out anytime with any questions, comments, or concerns.
Best,
Mackenna Hackimer | Trout in the Classroom Coordinator | NYC Environmental Protection
