Announcing a new Meetup for LICH - Literary, Intellectual & Cultural
Hub ( Hyderabad )!

What: Cauldron 33 : Osmosis 3 : A Quarterly Review and Rekindling!

When: Sunday, March 6, 2011 3:30 PM
Where: Bamboo Park
Road No. 36, Jubilee Hills
Hyderabad

Dear Immortals,

As a practice of our group, we meet up every 3 months for a quarterly
review and also to bond with the regular members.

However, this meet would be special as we would be initiating
volunteers into various activities of the group to make it grow.


Over the period of one year since the formation of the group, I have
been solely organizing the meets with a lot of support in the
background from a few members. However the group went into inactivity
mode whenever I was busy with my involvement in other activities and
the momentum of the group was lost and took a long time to come back
to the same high.

Hence, to keep the fire burning and Cauldrons boiling, its time for
all the members to come forward and take up a few roles and
responsibilities, so that we can take our group to a higher level of
vibrant activity.

The roles mentioned below apply to both Adult & Junior divisions.
Hence if you have/know kids who would be interested in such
activities, please inform them and encourage them to join in and take
up these roles.

Secretary & Joint Secretary

The role of this member/s would be to maintain records of all our
meets which would include the minutes of the meet. The member would
also assist other organizers in scheduling meets and over all smooth
flow of calendar events.

WebMaster&Assistant WebMaster

The role of this member/s would be managing the online presence of the
group. This includes site management, moderating, announcements and
messages management, search engine optimization, online social
networking, communication channels management and blog maintenance.
The Web Master shall overlook all the above activities. Members can
choose to carry selected tasks from the list.

PR Incharge

The role of this member/s would be to be the face of the club in the
media. This includes being a media contact point of the club and
performing all communications with the media. The PR Incharge would
also look into event management and sponsorships.

Treasurer

The role of this member/s would be to maintain a record of the state
of group’s finances. This includes planning, implementation and
collection of funds.

Membership Incharge/Assistant Membership Incharge

The role of this member/s would be to be the point of contact and
interaction for all the members. This includes welcoming new members,
regular interaction and maintaining statistics on attendance, member
interests and group concerns.

Creative Activities Incharge/Assistant Creative Activities Incharge

The role of this member/s would be to be the catalyst for creative
activities in the group. This includes organizing various workshops,
encouraging members to come up with creative works and maintain a
database of all the groups’ creative work and maintaining the
quarterly digest of the group.

Literary Incharge

The role of this member/s would be to be the central repository of all
literary activities of the group. This would include maintaining a
database of the Groups Literary Info (Books/Authors/Genres Discussed),
External Literary Info (Famous/New/Potential writings) and The Online
Book Sharing Management.

Cultural Activities Incharge

The role of this member/s would be to plan with, initiate and assist
the following members and be a part of their activities:

Dramatics/Theatre Incharge

This member would take care of all activities related to theatre/drama
including hosting/training plays/playwriting, workshops and
interaction, invitations and communication with other theatre groups
and activities around the city.

External Events Incharge

This member would find out, inform and collaborate with regards to all
events happening around the city and will also maintain a database,
member activity details and reviews of the event.

Social/Environmental/Cultural Causes Incharge

This member would organize related meets, encourage members to take
part and inform about related activities all around.

Arts/Craft/Hobbies Incharge

The role of this member/s would be to organize related meets/workshops/
events, encourage members to take up and practice and inform about
related events all around.

Diverse Knowledge Streams Incharge

The role of this member/s would be to introduce activities and events
to get the members interested and involved in diverse streams of
knowledge other than literature and art (ex. science, mathematics,
philosophy etc.) and help they gain knowledge and experience.

Multi-lingual/Multi-National/Multi-Cultural Awareness Activities
Incharge

The role of this member/s would be to take up all creative,
intellectual and literary works in all Multi-lingual/Multi-National/
Multi-Cultural streams and organize events/meets concerned with them,
encourage members diverse skills, and maintain info on related group
and external activities.

Personality Development Activities Incharge

The role of this member/s would be to organize related meets,
encourage members to take part and inform about related activities all
around.

Fun Activities Incharge

The role of this member/s would be to involve the members in various
activities which would help in building better bonds between the group
members, provide a relaxation and a break from mental stress and also
help in exercising the brain having fun. (Ex: Board Games/Interactive
Games/puzzles/Quiz/Crossword/Sudoku etc., Trivia & Tit Bits, Group
Bonding Activities etc.)

For the Juniors, the same roles apply; however there shall also be an
additional Adult Incharge under each role to help the Junior
Organizers.

Looking forward to see you there and joining in as a more integral,
supportive & active part of LICH

I request all our members to do the following without fail, as it
would help our group to organize the meet ups in a better way:
...to promptly RSVP for a meet as to whether they would be coming or
not and the role interested in taking
...if not, the reason for their absence (topic not interesting, some
other work or any other reason)
...to answer the questions asked at the time of RSVP without fail.
...any ideas/suggestions for the current meet up which can be
implemented for the scheduled meet
...all those who attended, to give a detailed feed back on the meet up
immediately, with suggestions and ideas for improvement
...those who RSVP yes and did not turn up, the reason for their
absence

Try and answer at least some of the questions if not all as
"yes"...even if it is a "no" right now...try and turn it into a "yes"
before the meet up...


Try and make it to the meet on time...so that it doesn't disrupt the
ongoing meet and also doesn't affect the planned structure of the
meet...

Be a patient good listener in the bounds of the topic, with an
understanding, supportive and appreciative approach towards other
members during the meets...building a platform for a healthy, sensible
and more productive interaction...

Invitations:
One of the basic reasons of having our club is to enjoy the company of
like minded people doing activities which we enjoy the most...hence
now on all literary, intellectual and cultural events happening around
the city is another opportunity for our members to experience as well
as bond...and it shall be listed on our site as a meet up to attend. I
request all the members to put up the links to any such events across
our city in the section (Vista) provided for the same in our
discussion boards and the event shall be scheduled as a meet up.
