Happy October!

You are receiving this notification from our Google group in our efforts to keep our students' parents informed as our school year progresses.  Our busy Music Department is always hopping and we know that sometimes information doesn’t always make it home if we send it home via your student.  We promise to keep our communications efficient and will not be filling your email box with mailings!

As we enter this busy month, here are some announcements to keep you all in the loop.

The eScrip 10% Back to Schools program has ended, which means it’s time for you to enter your receipt numbers.  If you aren’t already an eScrip participant, click on this link to do so:  http://backtoschools.escrip.com/    For those who have a subscribed Safeway Club Card, your contributions automatically rolled into the organization of your designation (hopefully that’s the Lincoln Music Boosters)!

Please ask your friends, neighbors and colleagues to do the same; every bit is going to help this year, especially with the newly imposed eScrip earnings cap which translates to our Booster budget being slashed by an estimated 40%.  Yikes!  Every dollar helps; the deadline to complete this task is October 13.

The next general meeting for the Lincoln Performing Arts Coalition will be held this Thursday, October 6, beginning at 7 pm in Room 91 (Choir room).  We are soliciting your help and support as we prepare for our next alumni event, an Alumni Cabaret, to be held on December 29.  We have a $15,000 deficit which must be filled, or there will be no Musical Theatre or VocalEase in the Spring.  We hope you can attend!

Have you purchased your Pancake Breakfast tickets yet?  Use this link to do so via Paypal:  http://lincolnperformingarts.com/music/tickets.html    Avoid the long lines on the morning of the event by purchasing yours ahead of time!

This event requires an army of volunteers in order to be successful.  At this time, only 10% of parents/guardians have signed up to help.  WE CAN’T DO THIS ONE WITHOUT YOU!  Please go to this link to volunteer:   http://signupgenius.com/go/pancake80; if you would like to add your financial support by donating an item or two or ten, please use this link:  http://signupgenius.com/go/pancake79.  Thank you in advance for your help!

Our next Music Booster meeting of the school year will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2011, beginning at 7:30 pm in Room 91.  Come hear about the latest plans for the Music Boosters and earn 10 XCR points for your student, while you enjoy sweet treats and a student ensemble performance!

With the help of gazelle.com, the Boosters will benefit with your old small electronics—and you get a tax donation at the same time.  Let us do the work...all you have to do is bring your used small electronics to our meeting.  We’ll do the rest!  Check out the website to see what your donation can do for us:  lincolnmusicboosters.gazelle.com/

Many hands make light work.  Hope to see you soon.

Best regards,
