 Dear Colleagues,

This is a great webinar about a UCLA-based initiative called the CIRCLE Project. The UCLA LGBT Center is proud to be a part of this initiative. This webinar is open to anyone so please share with your lists!

Supporting the Wellness of Undocumented Queer Youth

Meeting Description:

The Center for Strengthening Youth Prevention Paradigms (SYPP Center) invites you to participate in the May presentation of our “Third Thursdays Webinar Series.” Two representatives from The Collective of Immigrant Resilience through Community Led Empowerment (The C.I.R.C.L.E. Project) will share the importance of creating an environment that promotes the community and self-empowerment of immigrant youth, and the role of service providers for supporting these vital spaces.

After this webinar, you will be able to:

  1. Describe the experiences and stressors of undocumented queer youth
  2. Identify supportive methods for working with undocumented youth
  3. Identify community resources for providers and undocumented youth

Housed at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, SYPP Center provides capacity building assistance (CBA) services to communities seeking to prevent HIV/AIDS among youth, with an emphasis on young gay men and transgender youth of color. SYPP Center offers a framework for communities to create sustainable structural changes and build healthy community coalitions that respond to local needs.

This project is supported by Cooperative Agreement Number 5U65PS001708-05 from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Its contents are solely the responsibility of the authors and do not necessarily represent the official views of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
