Hello All,

Please see the attached message from Dr. Jamie Patton regarding the new Program Coordinator (Sr) for LGBTQA Resources and Support! I also want to thank everyone who applied for or supported this process by spreading the word about this important position as well. Thank you!  Matt Tombaugh

Dear Colleagues,

It is my pleasure to announce the selection of Chris Schlarb as our new Program Coordinator Sr. – Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Queer, Transgender, and Ally (LGBTQA) Resources and Support with Inclusion and Multicultural Services.  Chris is learning that sometimes, I can move quickly and is busy making plans to tentatively join us on July 29!

Chris completed a Masters degree in Student Affairs Administration from Michigan State University and has a unique blend of experiences in student affairs that will enhance our LGBTQA Resources and Support program by elevating our student experience and add additional flavor to our talented IMS team.

Most recently Chris served as the LGBTQA Specialist at a university to the south of NAU.  Chris’ employment experiences include; a Graduate Assistantship as a Complex Director at Michigan State University, and several coordinator positions at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne.

Both at ASU and IPFW, Chris has worked directly with LGBT student centers and has assisted with numerous departmental and university efforts including intersectional programming.  Chris also brings valuable experience for this position, with regard to SafeZone workshops and building strong university relationships to provide exceptional group and one-on-one service to students.

I am thankful to all who assisted with the process and lent their time, insights and reflections as part of recruitment and selection of Chris.  Feel free to forward this email to those who may be interested.

Please prepare to welcome Chris in a few short days!

 Very Sincerely,

jamie
