Hello LGBTQA Higher Ed Network,

First, an apology for the lateness on getting this draft mission statement out to you - our team has had limited staffing and many projects since the meeting, so we very much appreciate your patience in getting this out!

As you know, the statewide meeting that was held last month in Phoenix was used in part to develop a mission statement for our network. We brainstormed, had great discussions, and agreed on bullet points to be included as elements to the mission statement. Our team was charged with putting these bullet points into words and sending it back out to the group for editing.

We ask that you take some time to have a look at the mission statement and make edits as you see fit. Please make edits on our google drive file, linked to below. You can also add comments in google drive by clicking 'insert' in the toolbar and scrolling down to 'comment'. If you are not able to use google drive, you can edit the attached file and send it back to me, and I will incorporate it. We ask that you review the document and make your edit by July 8th.

You will notice that there are some elements of the list which were not explicitly highlighted in the mission statement. We attempted to make the mission statement sufficiently general so that these elements are included though perhaps not specifically written as mentioned, per our discussion at the meeting. You can see images of our lists attached to jog your memory. Please edit as you see fit - this mission statement is a collaborative effort and this is very much a rough draft.

Feel free to continue the conversation over this listserv in addition to editing, if you feel it is necessary. Please do not send edits back out to the list though, to make sure people only get relevant messages to their inbox.

Thank you all for your work in crafting this mission statement! Have a great day,

I think it is a great mission statement that covers in an imbrella statement, what we wanted to get across in regards to our mission.
