As we know the BUG Summer League is fast approaching, and there are a
few things I'd like to get sorted beforehand. (By the way I'm wasting
time in work here, lol)

Shirts
Not an essential item but I think it brings a team together and adds a
sense of belonging to the whole thing. We had home made shirts in the
past, which I thought where pretty cool to be honest. But I think a
more professional look might knock some confidence out of the opposing
teams. I will assume the lookfly will be our main point of contact for
getting this sorted, and moo maybe we could look at getting the logo
touched up (smoothed edges, maybe more simple or something) just play
around and I'll have a bash too.
Shirt numbers I think will be good. I know Moo will want 44 and myself
69, but anyone else wanting a particular number? Jason? Rob? Random?
Anyone else?
I will drop Rob and Jason an email to come read this. Anyone got a
contact a contact for random? He was playing for LDW last time and
would be good to see him back.
If no one gets back in time for shirts to be made we will just stick
to the home made shirts again, I presume.

Future LDW players?
Players at the moment is an issue … Last Tournament we where left with
Myself, Moo, Rob, Jason and Random to Play a few matches without any
subs. That’s pretty much because the girls went off because Hannah was
crying, or something. But I think it would still be good to account
the Girls (Claire, Kerry and Karen) as team members as they will come
in handy.
Although, I feel we need to recruit more people to be apart of the
team, get them shirts and the works. The more members we get the
better. I know other teams are finding it hard to hold 5 or 6 people,
but if you don’t ask you don’t get. Ask around friends and family and
see what we can achieve, and then let us know on here if you actually
recruit anyone.

Tournaments
As well as the Summer League (info on previous posts) there are some
dates for your diaries:
Belfast Open - 30th August
Christmas Special - 20th December
Love Easter - 11th April 2009

Practises
Practises are at the moment just the standard BUG ones on Tuesday and
Saturdays. I know it might not be ideal for a few people but it would
be good to get a practise now and again for just LDW. I think it would
be good so we know how to play together better. If you remember last
tournament, first match against CHASE, we where shocking, but got
progressively better towards the end of the match, and It was said if
we had of got SCRUFF first or had practised together then we could
have won that tournament. (No offence to SCRUFF or CHASE)
Training Ideas: I think we should all look after our personal fitness,
we will all know individually what we are capable of, weather we go
for runs or just mess about in the garden. Just try not to be coming
to matches hung over. Lol.

Thats the end of my Rant ... any comments/queries/suggestions?

Stu.

we could make it be. It would save some embarrassment on my part.

Theres a logo idea up on the 'files' section.

also the logo I uploaded is to show we are a individual team, but with
the circle we can be recognisable as a part of BUG.

just my opinions on kit.  i think t-shirts for now would be a much better (and cheaper) idea.  lookfly kit is pretty expensive and as we will only for the moment be entering things like the summer league and whatnot i think it makes more sense.
in addition i have several people in newcastle who would be very interested in paying good money for an LDW t-shirt.

stu and i did talk this over yesterday and have since produced a LDW
coat of arms, a crest is you will, to print on cheap t-shirts
stu is trying to source the cheapest option on that front bu i think
if we all got 1 whit and one black tee and got our crest printed on
with the iron-on stuff then it'll be a fairly cheap option
Jason, as for your friends in newcastle, if they don't have as much
love for the new logo (or is it the team name they like) I was
thinking of getting hoodies made with the old massive logo on them
just cos it is a great picture, just not the best for a small logo.

yeah, just following up on what moo said ... small crest logo on t-
shirts and numbers on sleeves seems to be the way to go.

anyone have a particular number they want?

Is the logo your going with the one as it is on the site?  Personally i don't really like the crest one and think it would be a much better idea to keep the old one.  I just don't think the crest really fits in with frisbee and that drawing of the lion jumping out of the wardrobe is pretty damn cool!  But i am but one man and will listen to the masses i suppose.

Jason

PS. 7 or 83

Can i throw my tuppence worth in and suggest the original logo as the
main pic on the shirt and then ur number on one sleeve and the crest on
the other... or is that just complicating things too much...

well theres another logo we could use ... it is uploaded in the files
section ... it is the original drawing but within a circle ... I think
adam is on to something with the crest on one sleeve, number on the
other and the other logo in the center. Moo is probably not online
right now but i'll give him a ring now.

my brother might be interested in playing next week. he's never played
ultimate before but he can throw a disc ok and i can go over the rules
with him before we play. any objections to this or would the extra
number be well apreciated?!

I have no problems, its cool with me. The whole point of this league
is to get more people interested in the sport, so bring him along.
