FIRST THINGS FIRST
Jean is one of those rare folks who only have an actual birthday every four years on February 29th; LEAP DAY! We are both recovering from a terrible cold, so we’re spending the day quietly at the ranch. We’ll celebrate the event when we’re both feeling a little better in Dallas with the family. But, please join me in extending Happy Birthday wishes to Jean on this rare, and happy, occasion. And, you have a chance to express your wishes in person on March 10th at our concert.
WHAT ARE THE CHANCES???
When the Kingsmen appeared at our January concert, their hit song “That’s All I Need” had just hit the top of the charts as #1 in the Singing News! And now, it’s happened again! In the “just arrived” March issue of the Singing News, Gold City is #1 in the Singing News Chart with their stirring arrangement of “Peter, James, and John.” It’s a wonderful song about the events leading up to the crucifixion of Jesus. It’s a song that will stay with you for a lifetime. Gold City will be joined by the Palmetto State Quartet and the Crist Family. I think this will be the first time these groups have ever appeared in concert together. Plus, you’ll get to hear Gold City’s Tim Riley singing that “low” bass doing favorites from the past, such as Under Control, and some new ones that include a great new song called “I Get Down” that really shows what a great bass can do. MARCH 10TH WILL BE THE NIGHT!!!
I’ve been collecting music for decades for my personal enjoyment and our radio programs. But, over a period of time, duplicates by the hundreds and radio “samplers” piled up to the point that it was becoming difficult to organize. So, Saturday March 10th at the live edition of Lake Country Jubilee we’ll be “GIVING AWAY- FREE OF CHARGE” hundreds and hundreds of projects that include almost all the famous group in gospel music- and some great stuff that’s not so famous. Some very old (I saw a James Blackwood solo project.) At the end of the concert, we’ll have boxes of these cd’s on a “grab bag” basis as you leave the building. That way, you won’t have to figure out what to do with them during the concert. COME- ENJOY- RECEIVE!!!
TIME FLIES WHEN YOU’RE HAVING FUN!!
We’ve been producing Limousin cattle since1980. Father time won. Now, Jean and I sold our cows. But, we sold them to our former manager, Rowdy France, who left them here. So, customers we had supplied with bulls can still come to the same gate!
