Hello Kouki,
Your model contains a disconnected polygon (almost in the origin area).
You should remove that and try to draw boundary conditions again.

Kind regards,

Zugur

Hello Zugur

Thanks for the advice. I was able to do the calculation.
However, the calculation result does not appear in the U-factor window.
I have attached a screenshot.
Please tell me where I should set this.
Thank you

Kind regards,
kouki

Hello Kouki,
Let me know your boundary conditions values for inside and outside. I will try to check to run calculation.

Regards,

Zugur

Hello Zugur

I ' m very grateful to you.

I'm working on heat bridge calculations for the foundation.
I have it set up as shown in the attachment.

Hello,
You should set the U-Factor Surface tags for inside and outside
surfaces. To make that select boundaries and open settings of them
(just push Enter). Next select the needed 'U-Factor Surface' tag for
inside and outside surfaces separately. Click OK. Recalculate. Check
results

Kind regards,

Zugur

Hello,

Thank you!

I'm sorry I didn't understand the manual.
Anyway, it looks like I'll be able to analyze it to the end.
I'm aiming for Passive House certification.

Thank you very much!

Best regards,

kouki

Hello kouki,

looking at your image I think there is still something that doesn't work because the thermal flux entering the detail on the interior side (35.98 W/m) is bigger than that escaping from the exterior side (29.92 W/m).
Probably some little segment of the BCs still have no U-factor name. I attach here your file finally working.

Cheers, ciao

Hello  Fabrizio

Thanks for checking the file and attaching it.
However, my version (7.6.1.0) is out of date and I couldn't open it.
So I'm attaching the file again.
Thank you very much!

Cheers,
Kouki

Is there a reason you are running 7.6, which is a very old version.

You should really update to the latest version of 7.8, which is 7.8.74, assuming that is the version that the supporters on this forum are using, which you might want to determine.

You shouldn't expect someone on this forum, who is trying to help you as a volunteer, to change their version to an older one, in order to help you get your file to run.

If you must use 7.6, you should follow the steps that everyone on the forum did to update your file, and update it yourself.

Robin

Robin

 Thanks for the advice.
You're right about how I should behave here, so I won't argue.
I'll update the new version after I finish this project.

Hello kouki, no problem.

Look the attached image.

Just click firstly on BC1 then, keeping shift pressed, click on BC2, this let you select all the internal BC in-betweens counter-clockwise, even the tiniest .
Once selected give these BCs a U-Factor name (eg. _Interior).
Deselect all the internal BC just clicking outside the model.

Now proceed the same way for the external BCs: click firstly on BC3 than, keeping shift pressed, on BC4. Once selected give also these BCs a U-Factor name (eg. _Exterior)
Launch the calculation and now every thing should work.

Once Therm gives you the thermal flux you can proceed to calculate the Psi value associated to this thermal bridge, following all the standard rules for thermal bridges involving the ground, that is ISO 10211, ISO 13370 as it has been discussed many times in this forum.

Ciao

Hello Fabrizio , Thank you for your very detailed explanation.

I was able to solve my problem.
Thanks also for the tips!

I'm going to keep studying thermal bridges!
I'll try zapping topics in this forum about ISO 10211 and ISO 13370!

Ciao
