I am running Therm 7.8.71 and after I set boundary conditions I try to click the calc button (F9) for the file but the program stops responding and locks up.  The files will calc without a problem on another users computer.  I have tried to reinstall and repair the install but still have the same issue.  Does anyone have any suggestions or seen this happen before?

Thanks

Is this happening the very first time you are using 7.8.71, or was it working before and now it isn't, ie, something changed?

Does this happen on any file? Can you provide the file that it is happening with unless it happens on all files?

Can you provide me (rdmit...@lbl.gov) with your Therm7.8.ini file, which is found here

I seem to be having this same issue while using both Therm 7.8.71 and Therm 7.8.55. I was initially using 7.8.55, ran into the issue, uninstalled, and installed 7.8.71

While using files that had no calculation issues previously, both programs do not respond once I go to re-calc. I am able to open files and view the previous results. When I make any changes/set boundary conditions I'm no longer to run a new calculation without the program running into errors.

It sounds like something has changed on your computer, if  you were able to calculate files with the same version previously and now you can't.

Some things that could trigger this problem might be an update to your operating system, an update to your antivirus software, the installation of a new program that for some reason interferes with THERM.

A few things to try, although I suspect they might not help.

Run THERM as an Administrator

Try running one of the sample files that is in the default THERM working directory, and see if you have the same problem.

My operating system has been updated recently. I tried running as administrator and the same problem is occurring with the sample file. Is there anything else I can try?

Thanks!

What OS version are you running? Assuming it's Microsoft Windows.

Also, can you email me your THERM7.8.ini file, located here:

C:\Users\Public\LBNL\Settings

You can email it to me directly (rdmit...@lbl.gov) rather than posting it to this public forum.

And what is the latest version of the OS that it got updated to?
