Hello everyone,

i have been trying to run the calculation for this detail. The boundaries and the material are already correct. The detail can show isotherm and color infrared, but can't show u-value and still get the message "radiation enclosure input data error in conrad".

I would appreciate if somebody can check my file asap. Thankyou.

Regards,
Stephanie.

FYI : THERM 7.8

Looking at your Boundary Condition definitions, not all of the interior BCs had the Radiation "Autmoatica Enclosure Mode" option checked, which they need.

And the Exterior BC needs to have Raditiaon defined as Blackbody
image.png
Also, one of the interior BCs had the Constant Heat Flux option checked, which I unchecked
image.png
In addition, I ran the model with the option to save the *.o file
image.png
When I looked at that file, one of the emissivity segments somewhere in the file was < 0, which will cause an error

So I reran the file, but this time, when generating the BCs, I selected the first option (rather than the 2nd default option), which will keep the existing BC definitions except it will assign emissivities based on the material properties.

That resulted in the file simulating without the ConRad error

I have attached the modified file.

I used THERM 7.8.80 to do this testing. I'm not sure that earlier versions of THERM 7.8 will open it. If you are using an earlier version of 7.8 and can't open the file I attached, let me know

One of our programmers found the offending emissivities in the original file -- they are in both the glazing system gaps where they touch the spacer.

Basically it appears that for some reason the emissivity is undefined for those two BCs.

We are trying to figure out how that might have happened. How did you import the glazing system into the model?

Hi Robin, Thanku for the revise model on "B1", I already check it.

I try to calculate again on other file using BC that u mention before, but still error. can u pls help? why still error on file "A1-UPDATE" ?
The glazing system, i input after the model already done, then i use locator & insert glazing system :

Robin,

I also have issue on the other file "A3-UPDATE".

I try to calculate, but somehow it shows warning & force close by itself.

I already input the lowest tolerance in options. Can u pls help this too?

Thankyou
