Hello,
My model runs and produces a iso lines just fine.  It will also produce a heat map as expected.  However, when I try to take a screen shot of the heat map, or even click anywhere else outside of the Therm window then it restarts calculating the heat map.  It only does this intermittently.  I've got several heatmap images just fine.  But sometimes it continually recalculates no matter where I click.

Is there a setting I can checkbox?  Maybe something like "don't recalculate"?  Any suggestions?

Take a picture with your phone, if they can't fix the Therm program.

Regards,

Phil

I know that THERM is a bit sensitive about regenerating the IR image.

It might have to do with how you are doing the screenshot, and how complicated it is to draw?? I can check with our programmers but I'm not sure we will be able to figure it out if it's connected to computers / screen capture software.

I use Snagit to do screenshots, and am able to take screenshots of the IR images of at least simple models, as shown below. And that included moving the Color Legend so that it would be next to the image.

There is also the File / Print and File / Print Preview option, which, theoretically, allows you to print the image to a PDF. Here is a screenshot of the File/Print Preview option. Although it doesn't seem to print the legend which makes it not so useful.

And theoretically it should then be possible to print it to a PDF, although that doesn't seem to be working when I try it, possibly because of how my PDF generation world is set up.

I would be curious if others can get the Print to PDF to work. It might depend on how your PDF world is set up.

Hi David,
When a heat map is drawn just press the ‘Print screen’ (PrtSc) button on keyboard. Next, paste (ctrl+v) that in the Paint or other image editor and cut needed area.

Hi All,

For Windows 10 & 11, I use the default Windows Snipping Tool to drag over the IR Image in Therm (7.8.74.0), but you might need to use the “Delay” feature in Snipping Tool as Therm will re-plot the IR Image and may not finish plotting the IR before the Snipping Tool is ready for you to drag. I delay mine for 5 seconds and that gives my PC time to re-plot IR and I can then capture the IR overlaying my image. The more complicated the image, may mean a longer delay setting in Snipping Tool.

File. Print Preview & Print works perfectly with Microsoft Print to PDF on my two computers.

The Graphics and Processor in your computer may also have a bearing on how well/fast Colour Infrared & Colour flux magnitude work.

My Windows 10 PC is quite old, (it cannot be upgraded to Windows 11), it is a first gen i7 with separate graphics card and it has no problems with any Therm features.

I also have a Fusion5 10.1 Tablet running Windows 11. It's not the most powerful tablet out there, but that also has no problem running Therm and its Display/Print Options. Albeit the screen size can be a bit challenging, and a separate mouse is a must!!!

Hope this helps.
