Please Share the 2026 Ride of Silence With Your Members

G'Day All!

I’m reaching out to ask for your help sharing the 2026 Ride of Silence with your club members.

The Ride of Silence will take place on Wednesday, May 20, at 6:45 PM, starting from the southwest parking lot at Robarts Arena in Sarasota. Riders should plan to arrive early for announcements. The route is approximately 6 miles and will be a slow, silent ride at 12 mph or less.  The Sarasota Police Department will escort riders through the City of Sarasota. 

The Ride of Silence is held to honor cyclists who have been injured or killed while riding on public roads. It also aims to raise awareness that cyclists are present and remind the community that cyclists have the same legal right to the road as motorists.

Would you be willing to invite your members to attend and share the attached poster through your club email, ride calendar, website, or social media?  This is a free event and open to all cyclists. Helmets are required, lights are recommended, and participants are asked to obey all traffic laws and remain silent during the ride.

After the ride, participants are invited to gather at Origin Craft Beer & Pizza Cafe, 1837 Hillview Street, Sarasota.  Thank you for helping bring the local cycling community together for this important memorial ride.
