Q about two potential volunteers ...

a coach might be interested in joining the Board as VP (she is going to talk with her significant other and see if they can handle that).

and one of my team parents said she is contemplating the Treasurer position.

my question is this:

since these were positions that officially ended a year ago (i know that’s the case for James, and i know Ruilian talked about stepping down last year, but we convinced her to stay), if they do decide yes, shouldn't they just join now and not as part of the Annual Meeting? i.e., in theory we’ve been looking for them for a year.

this would also address john’s concern about too many joining this year and the need to stagger the positions. i.e., since they are volunteering for a position that’s been open for a year, they would be up for re-election in a year.

thoughts?

I agree, though it seems it would depend on the candidates willingness.
