Director of coaching director as a board position

What would you all think of adding another board position? - Director of
coaching

I didn't understand why the league was paying a director of coaching
three or four times more than the high school varsity coach. Seems like
all the board members put in a good deal of time for free. Guess it
comes down to whether we are trying to be the municipal soccer league
for Los Alamos or a professional soccer academy where the staff is paid.
For the latter, you might expect professional coaching licenses and
experience.
