Once again you came through.....

As a crew, this game went much better. Forget about the little B/S things that always go wrong during games.... things happen..... But your camera work was great. Amy had the best shot of the night almost getting killed in the process. What a great job you did girl.... sorry we were not able to ISO it for replay. That was the booths fault. Amy, Great job there.

Set up and tear down was a team event too. I thought all of you did a great job setting up and taking down the equipment. This is always a tough chore.... But you all came through.

Here's a basic assignment for us all. Watch as many football games over this weekend that you can. Pay special attention to how the program is cut. Watch the head room, nose room, how the zoom in/outs and pans L/R look. See the over all flow of the show. Try and guess how many cameras are being used. I think you would be suprised. Lastly watch how many mistakes you can see. Yeah, even the big boys have problems.... It's TV..... Live TV..... and it's not any easier at the top. Infact it's much harder.

Hey, I'm a boat captain for a reason.... after 17 years in the TV business.... you can get overloaded. Everything you do reflects on you. And almost anyone that's honest will tell you, it a chew'em up business and you need thick skin. Your only as good as your last work... and that's why its so hard to break into this business. Not that any of you are trying to break into the business, but, we need to believe that our work is the best we can pump out, as if we were in the business. Your hard work, your team, work really shows and I can tell you first hand the community of Los Alamitos can and does see your work. Right now the buzz is that the community owes you a debt of thanks for your hard work and dedication. Remember, this is the training ground for all the other things we/you want to do this year. Get good here where it's hard.... then the little things all fall in nicely when we do the easier shows..... Although no show is really easy.

Believe me, this is all very worth it for each of you. You'll look back and say, "remember when...." It's a good thing.

OK..... Hand held crew for the next game at Fullerton college against Orange Luthern..... Who's in?

Again, every one did a great job and I thank you for it.
