LAFD HONORING RECRUIT FIREFIGHTER’S
ACCIDENTAL PASSING TODAY

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles City Fire Department (LAFD) is saddened to announce the tragic loss of one of our Recruit Firefighters at a traffic collision this morning in Studio City.  
 
We extend our deepest sympathy to immediate family, friends, and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. Details regarding the memorial service will be shared as they become available. We anticipate a procession from the incident site to the Coroner’s office in the coming hour.

Who: Los Angeles City Fire Department

What: Shortly after 5:00 AM this morning, an LAFD Recruit Firefighter was fatally injured while rendering aid at a traffic collision on the 101 Freeway south of Vineland Avenue. Despite the best efforts of LAFD and other emergency responders, our Recruit Firefighter succumbed to injuries sustained. The Firefighter’s name and additional details will be released after the family has been notified.

When: Monday, April 15, 2022, Time T.B.D. (late morning).
This is a notification of the procession,  there will not be a press event held at this time.
