Hello,

I administer the internet activities of a small non-profit organization.  We have used Gnu Mailman for about 10 years but in the last year or so have experienced delivery problems, I have updated the DNS settings for SPF, PTR etc.  All subscribers to the list except those with Bellsouth addresses receive the postings.

My hosting company has not been able to find the basis for the email not being delivered to Bellsouth.

qmail logs show -
"deferral: Sorry,_I_wasn't_able_to_establish_an_SMTP_connection._(#4.4.1)"

I would appreciate any advice on this problem.

best wishes,
Chris

No clue from me. Could be that they implement some special blacklist (or service), or policy that causes blanket rejections. I guess you'd have to contact someone at bellsouth to find out?

It could be your IP was blacklisted and it will not respond to connection attempts. Contact their tech support if possible to get details.
