Table Tops and Counter Tops on Passover: Kitzur SA 116:11

The Kitzur SA 116:11 suggests that there is a Minhog to cover table tops EVEN after doing a form of Hag'alah or Kashering. This may be extended to counter-tops as well.
Does anyone nowadays NOT cover their table tops and counter tops during Passover, even after Kashering them?
