וְנוֹהֲגִין לְהָסִיר אֶת הַפָּרֹכֶת מֵאֲרוֹן הַקֹּדֶשׁ, מִשּׁוּם דִּכְתִיב, בִּצַּע אִמְרָתוֹ.

The custom is to remove the Peroches from the Aron Kodesh because it is written בִּצַּע אִמְרָתוֹ.

How does בִּצַּע אִמְרָתוֹ come to imply removing the Peroches? Later the same words are quoted to justify not wearing the Tallis Godol at Shacharis.

I think that בצע can also mean "ripping" (like בציעת הפת), and אמרתו can refer to the Aramaic אימרא, a hem.
So the paroches and/or tallis can be thought of being symbolically ripped during this time.

I got this response
Similar to Dror's

"The word בצע can mean "to rob of." The word אמרתו can be read as "the hem [of a garment,]" as per the Aramaic אמרא."
