The next Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) class is now open! This is a hands-on training that teaches Kirkland residents how to prepare their homes and neighborhoods to respond to a disaster. This training has an attendance requirement for all five sessions:

• Tuesday, September 23 from 6-9 p.m.

• Thursday, September 25 from 6-9 p.m.

• Tuesday, September 30 from 6-9 p.m.

• Thursday, October 2 from 6-9 p.m.
  

• A final drill on Saturday, October 4 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Sign-ups are through the Parks & Rec platform, and you’ll need an account. 

If enrolling over the phone is preferred, you can do that by calling 425-587-3336 during normal business hours.

There is a $25 fee to cover costs. You'll receive a backpack, some basic disaster tools, personal protective equipment, a mini first aid kit, other safety supplies, and lunch on Saturday, the final day of training.
