State of the City speech by Mayor Sweet tomorrow

Tomorrow, Wednesday, May 11th is the Kirkland Alliance of Neighborhoods (KAN) Meeting where representatives from each neighborhood association discuss issues pertaining to all of Kirkland. This Wednesday KAN is hosting its annual State of the City speech by Mayor Sweet. If you would like to attend you are invited, but Q&A is limited to KAN representatives, KAN alternates, and Neighborhood Association Chairs.

The meeting starts at 7pm and Mayor Sweet comes on at 8pm.

Also, on May 18th the city is hosting an open house regarding the 85th Station Area Plan on Zoom: 

About the Open House: The City is currently finalizing the NE 85th Street Station Area Plan. This open house is an opportunity to learn more about the policies and development standards for future growth in the Station Area and be introduced to the following documents that City Council will consider for adoption later this spring:

• Station Area Plan

• Comprehensive Plan Amendments

• Form-based Code and Zoning Amendments (Phase 1)

• Design Guidelines

The open house will prepare participants to review the draft documents and participate in the adoption process by providing comments at the Planning Commission public hearing scheduled for June 9.
