The City of Kirkland’s total biennial budget for 2021-2022 is $812.5 million and the city is currently working on the next biennial budget. Look for the April survey, so you can give your input on the next budget! Kirkland has a AAA rating for its strong balance sheet. Attached is the short presentation given at our meeting and the larger (448 pages!) budget document can be found at

The City of Kirkland wants to make major changes to zoning heights around 405 freeway and NE 85th St with the construction of the new bus stop on the 405 freeway. Specifically impacting the Highlands is a proposed "kiss and ride" proposed to be built at 116th Ave NE and NE 87th St. The concern is about traffic getting backed up to the 4 way stop and beyond if there is a lot of traffic or people waiting at the small drop off/pick up area.
