Travelers should plan for overnight closures of all ramps at the Interstate 405/Northeast 85th Street interchange and Northeast 85th Street in Kirkland from June 16-18. Crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will install sign bridges over Northeast 85th Street, as part of the I-405/Northeast 85th Street Interchange and Inline BRT Station Project.
Closures
The northbound and southbound I-405 ramps (Exit 18) at the I-405/Northeast 85th Street interchange will be closed overnight on Tuesday, June 16 and Wednesday, June 17. Northeast 85th Street will also be closed overnight between Sixth Street and 120th Avenue Northeast. Crews will close the ramps and Northeast 85th Street as early as 9 p.m. each night to 5 a.m. the following morning. Detours will be in place.
“Know before you go," travel during off-peak hours or, if possible, delay discretionary travel to help minimize backups.

About the I-405/Northeast 85th Street Interchange and Inline BRT Station Project
The Washington State Department of Transportation, Sound Transit, and design-build contractor Graham Contracting, Ltd. began construction on the I-405/Northeast 85th Street Interchange and Inline BRT Station Project this past summer.
Once finished, the project will improve access to the Express Toll Lane (ETL) system and offer more reliable transportation options for everyone in Kirkland – no matter how you get around.
