Overnight lane reductions on Northeast 85th Street in Kirkland for traffic switch, July 28-29
Northeast 85th Street will have overnight lane reductions from Monday, July 28 to Tuesday, July 29. Crews will shift eastbound traffic to the newly constructed bridge to the second level of the new three-level interchange at Northeast 85th Street, as part of the I-405/Northeast 85th Street Interchange and Inline Station Project.
Westbound and eastbound Northeast 85th Street will be reduced consecutively to one lane consecutively overnight from 8 p.m. Monday, July 28 to 5 a.m. Tuesday, July 29. Uniformed police officers will be in place to direct traffic.
The following on- and off-ramps will be closed during this time:
This new traffic pattern will remain in place through fall 2025 while crews build new bridges and a future third level as part of the redesigned three-level interchange at Northeast 85th Street. Travelers are advised to drive carefully and follow the signs through the work zone.
This work is weather-dependent and is subject to change. Schedule updates will be available on the project webpage, WSDOT’s Travel Center map, the WSDOT mobile app and by signing up for King County email updates.
