Highlands Neighbors,

Please plan to attend the Upcoming City Council meeting 7:30pm, Tuesday April 5th . There will be a discussion of the Station Area Plan the rebuilding of the 85th Street 405 clover leaf to accommodate Bus rapid Transit.  This project will have a major impact on our neighborhood.

Did you know that all traffic for the planned “Kiss and Ride” is currently slated to run through NE 87th Street?  It seems more appropriate to enter via NE 85th so we do not have added traffic getting out of our neighborhood. Also, the kiss and ride located in the Highlands would mean removing sections of the 405 sound wall  at the corner of NE 87th and 116th to build the vehicle access to this Kiss and Ride drop off point for the Bus Rapid Transit. The removal of the sound wall will mean much more freeway noise into our neighborhood. See the schematic below from the council website.

Community members may join the Zoom meeting via telephone by calling US: 877-853-5257 (Toll free) or 206-337-9723 (Toll free) using Webinar ID 838-5473-0000 or via computer here. No passcode needed for Zoom access to meeting.
