Hello all,
I am reaching out to get information on elementary media specialist positions. Currently, in Mankato, the elementary media specialist is part of the art, gym, music rotation. This position requires a media licensure and preferably a teaching license as well.
Students in grades K-5 go to media once a week. The media specialist teaches these classes (about 75-80% of their job responsibility) as well as manages the school's library (order books, maintain the library budget, set up displays, etc.).
My questions are:
- Is your elementary media position similar to Mankato's - teaching and library management?
- If not, what does your elementary media specialist position/role entail?
- Does the elementary role require a media licensure?
- Are media positions part of the district's technology department?
- If so, what are the tech support pieces your media position has at the elementary level?
- What are the specialists that your elementary students go to throughout the week?
I appreciate your time and input!
Thank you and enjoy the holiday weekend,
Angie
