KXCI Community Advisory Board
In August and September of this year, members of the KXCI Board of Directors (BoD or "Board") and Community Advisory Board (CAB) met to work on better communication between the Board and CAB. We hope to continue after the first of the year. For CAB reports/recommendations to the Board, please go to the CAB page at KXCI.org.
In addition two members of the CAB, Tony Novelli and Kali Holtschlag, have joined a Strategic Planning committee to begin looking at the future directions and plans for KXCI. The CAB has maintained that membership and community inclusion and involvement are of prime importance in making these plans and decisions. We are pleased that the BoD has opened this process beyond the BoD itself to the other major components of KXCI; staff, volunteers, CAB and the general membership.
The Strategic Planning committee has identified the creation of a new vision/mission statement as an important task for the station to complete. This is the first area where the creative vision of YOU, the membership, could have a significant impact. Please take the time to tell us about your dreams for what your community radio station should be like. Elsewhere in this issue of the Segue is a form you can mail in, or you can go to kxci.org and find several options to send an electronic comment either to the BoD, the CAB, or to the GM. Hopefully by the time you read this there will even be a dedicated page or link for the strategic planning process.
