Last night the KXCI
BoD formally set in place several standing committees and officially
opened most of them to any general member willing to participate. They
will soon be listed on the kxci.org website and I presume some on air/segue
recruitment notices will follow. I hope interested people will give it a
try.
One other committee, an ad hoc - will
be for the purpose of CAB development - I hope that anybody on this
list that has an interest will participate.
It is time to get it up and
functioning with better direction and understanding of purpose so that good
people will participate. Or as has been mentioned before - if the
organization is truly functioning as a healthy community radio station, a CAB is
almost unnecessary - all it would need to do is verify the station is meeting
its community programming, policy, and educational goals. It actually
COULD be a once or twice a year deal and still meet the letter and INTENTION of
the regulations.
I believe the "Who is on the CAB"
portion of our web page will be removed at least until that issue is
settled. Nick, I take it you are still willing to keep tabs on this
list? Maybe even retract your resignation? ; )
Oh - it was Elaine Schramm who
resigned.
