KXCI Staff, Volunteers and Tucson Musicians:

Thank you for making it a wonderful night to be in Tucson and at KXCI.  The very best of the human condition is present when we come together as a group. I really value that about this radio station and community of people.  I hope this finds all of you with the very best of friends and family as we conclude this year.  Thank you for being a part of KXCI Community Radio.

More reasons to enjoy the company of KXCIers this week:

Rosie's Rhythm Room - Tuesday - 8-10 PM...Roze Lady will have a country holiday show featuring the silly to sentimental -- redneck tunes, honkytonk, western swing and country rockin' as well.

Halftime at the Apocalypse - Thursday - 9-11 PM... Around 9:20, in true Halftime fashion, Jeff Rogers will do his 9th or possibly 10th playing of "The Man Who Planted Tree's" as interpreted by the Paul Winter Consort.

Good morning to all of you!

Ryan

Hi all,

A week or so ago I sent an e-mail with a failure notice I got from the kxci website after trying to use the "send a message to the BoD" form.  Never got a reply to either.

I asked about the draft Novemeber and the revised/approved October minutes.

To me the minutes are not as critical as fixing the website, however the new policy to get them out was a positive move and I hope nothing has changed with that.

Know everyone is busy, but had this concern.
Thanks,
Kali

I just tested both the Board and CAB email forms and they are working fine.  I received email messages with 60 seconds from both.

I will be posting the minutes within a few days as I get caught up on web stuff.  As I mentioned, Celia Blackwood has moved on from her position and we will be splitting the duties until the new year.

Thanks for checking in about this, but I am not sure the trouble you are experiencing.  My only thought is that it could be timing out on dial up.  Please check it again when you have a chance and let me know.

Thanks,

Ryan

Ryan,

I will try the forms again right after I send this, however I would like to revisit the matter of the GM being privy to a form that states it is going to the BoD. (and conversely does not state anywhere who else is receiving it - are you the only one?  Does Randy still get them?  Do you see where the problem of confidentiality begins?)

This is nothing personal with you, but with the BoD apparently still afraid to publicly post any contact info, there is no way for listeners to contact them confidentially about staff or other issues that might arise.  It has been a problem in the past and seems to me we should address it.

And I apologize - on checking the original mail, I see the error was returned when I tried to send to the kxc...@kxci.org address, not the webform.

That does not change my concerns below, just wanted to clarify where the error message I got came from.

I don't receive them.  You mentioned a problem and I tested them to ensure that is was working properly (as the current default webmaster).  In the case of not publishing email addresses on the website, it is a matter of avoiding spam and search engine robots.  It is to protect our email accounts.  Of course, I am happy to receive email from anywhere and have any one post my email address: ryanj...@yahoo.com.  This way, it doesn't cause problems to our KXCI email addresses and I am as assessible as possible.  My phone number is also more than fine to post, which is 404-7559.  I think the email forms on the website have been functioning very well and would hope the progress that we are making is for full transparency on both sides of the coin.  The things I say about the station and people involved with it are certainly things that I would hope I could say to all involved and I would hope people with praise or problems could do the same thing.  It works toward better communication and improved relationships in and out of the station.

Thanks Ryan,

I said it was not really about you, just some past problems with staff intercepting mail to the BoD.  Still not clear how the system works exactly or who else might have access and there is still a question of whether a general member can contact the BoD confidentially without otherwise "knowing" somebody.

Do you know if that old e-mail, kxc...@kxci.org is still good as well?  That is what I actually got the error message on.  If it is no longer in service I will delete it from my address file.
