Hi and welcome, Alex and "eav",
Folks, quartz lenses are useful for UV Ultra Violet photography, for
example, optimized for 230-266nm wavelength light. There are some
specifically made for Nikon mount, very expensive, and I don't think
they are in production, so used prices are going up and up. It's
always fun to read such photographer collections as available at
http://www.a1.nl/phomepag/markerink/uv-lens.htm I think you can find
new ones in custom T-mount (Tamron's original T-ring that can be made
for almost any camera, manul operation only) from various scientific
suppliers. Try a Google.com search for [quartz lens t-mount 35mm],

Hi; PeterThank you very much for your kind reply. In fact I had
already called this company a while ago they said that they can not
make a single lens especially for me They are manufacturing lenses
only in commercial quantities; About myself: currently I live in
Geneva swizerland. Not a very good place for photography. I have
started to take pictures in eatly childhood with a soviet-made Zorkij
rangefinder camera(a copy of Leica) perhaps you have heard about it
This was my father's gift. Many years later I svitched to Yashica. And
last year I was seduced by Sony anverticements. that is all in short.
Best regards and god bless you
