If there was such a thing as a magical guitar that let people taste the
music that it was playing, without any drugs or anything, what do you
guys think would be the most delicious song of all time?

I'll go with Phantom of the Opera by Iron Maiden.

The Power of Thy Sword by Manowar.

That would taste like steel and blood!!

I'm thinking ... Return to Innocence by Enya.

actually after some thought I will change my vote. Now I would say that
The National Anthem by radiohead would be the most delicious. The part
where the horns go "BO BOOPBOOP BADA BOOP, BO BOOPBOOP BADA BOOP" would
be the fuckin dessert!

Oh, what about Scatman Johns "Scatman"?

All that razzamatazz that I can't understand would probly taste like
raspberries!!!

Any song by Good Charlotte would probably taste like bologne sandwich
that was peed on by a pack of wild dogs.

"layla" by Derrick and the Dominos is a pretty easy but pretty fucking
fantastic choice

oh are we actually supposed to like, pick what we think is our favorite
song/best song? Cause for a while now, which is surprising for me, I've
held Elvis Costello's "Radio Radio" in the top spot of my favorite
songs. I can't seem to listen to it too much.

There Troz goes again, sounding off on old music I have never heard
off.

Sometimes it makes me feel wholly uncultured, like I'm missing out on
some great stuff.

Other times, it makes me feel like something is wrong with T-Roz, and
he has aged mentally faster than physically and is actually in his mid
30's. I mean, think about it. He already talks about his previous
sports achievements all the time (tri team cap'n etc etc), is married,
and drinks lots of hard lemonade.

Thoughts?

you don't know layla? I guarantee you've heard it before, whether it be
the original or clapton's gay unplugged version that real old people
just LOVE.

unplugged, ugh, im glad ive never heard that to my recollection

kyle, if youre interested in listening to some stuff

http://www.jim-yates.com/wzlx2000.htm

there is the list from 2000 (the best i could do for now) of the wzlx
countdown. even amongst us classic rock folk there are arguements
though. i personally think the rolling stones and aerosmith rank
highly on the "most overrated bands of all time list" and U2 is places
1-5 on the the top "biggest douchebags of all time list" with Bono
rounding out the top 10 on his own. HOWEVER, the second greatest song
of all time according to me is "Dream On" by Aerosmith, and another of
my favorite of mine is "Paint it Black" by the Stones (#31)

but anyway, start somewhere near the top, and download some amazing
songs

YES!! Both those bands, but SPECIFICALLY the Rolling Stones are
WAYYYYYY overrated!! I'm glad you agree! Gimme Shelter is a supposed
MASTERPIECE of a song. I think its not even one of their good ones.
They've been around 40 years and have about 10 songs I really like. I
think if you give anyone 40 years, they can make 10 songs I'll like.
That includes you, Mumbly Del Kyle.

Dream On is a great song. 70s aerosmith is much better than the drug
free post-mid80s aerosmith. Paint it Black is great because of Brian
Jones who died in the late 60s.

Let me add my own addendum to your comment. I would put THE EAGLES on
the top of the list of most overrated bands of all time. I've always
held the belief that without Hotel California, they would have been a
not-very-popular folk-country band. The Big Lebowski said it best:

The Dude: Jesus, man, could you change the channel?
Big Black Cab Driver: Fuck you man. If you don't like my fuckin' music
get your own fuckin' cab!
The Dude: I had a rough...
Big Black Cab Driver: I pull over and kick your ass out!
The Dude: Come on, man. I had a rough night and I hate the fuckin'
Eagles, man!

well done, im not a big eagles fan either, and their best of 71-75 is
top selling album ever

by the way, number 1 on my things to do if i become obscenely rich is:

by however many copies of Bing Crosby's "White Christmas" so it becomes
the best selling single of all time again, and knock Elton John's
candle in the wind from the top because i hate that fucking song

Also, entirely left out on that list, and one of my favorite songs of
late is James Taylor's "Carolina on my Mind"

I fucking hate HATE Aerosmith. Despite the fact that I like the song
"Dream On", because as you said, that was the 70's.

Jame's Taylor's "Carolina in my Mind" is one of the greats indeed.
Carolina is a reference to insanity. True this.

I will think about my most delicious songs, then I will comment on gay
stuff.

I think I'll look into that countdown this weekend while I'm barbecuing
by myself outside of my apartment with my pants down. Barbecuing my
cock.

What about feel good music that just makes you want to party or act
silly.

I know you all know who Electric Six is, with the recently popular hit
'Danger High Voltage' but I fucking love the rest of their stuff. The
music is all I need to rev me up for any night that includes some kind
of party, and the lyrics? So fun to sing along to:

"Mr President, I don't like you - YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO ROCK!"

or

"Baby ... When I'm fuckin' you (high pitched guitar twang!)
it's like nothing else matters"

If you only heard that one single, and you agree that sometimes you
know you need to have some feel good superficial happy go lucky rock
fun, I suggest you check their stuff out.
