We have been using JIRA successfully for 18 months to manage our Scrum projects. Our organization ie engaged in a significant additional roll-out.  If you'll call me I can provide additional detail.

We use it quite extensively here at JP Morgan. Would be happy to discuss with you and your CIO on how we use it and some of our experiences.

Erik,
I use JIRA with the Greenhopper plugin (a plugin that adds Agile functionality to JIRA).  We just started using Greenhopper a few months ago and I'm not an expert by any stretch, but I can probably answer your questions.

Thanks,
Bill Waugh

I'm no longer local, but have been using JIRA/GreenHopper for over 2 years now. I've also taught basic and advanced classes on it. I can probably answer most questions you or your CIO may have.

It sounds like there are a few local you can choose from for a face-to-face, but if a conference call would work, I can help.

Good luck,

-Frank

Wow ... thank you to everyone who has commented in the Group or sent me a message directly. I have been talking with my management staff and I am trying to determine what questions they really want to discuss. As I understand this better, I will start getting in contact with several of you. I expect this to start happening next week.

Thanks for being willing to share your experiences.

Eric,

My company has been using Atlassian products for almost 2 years now managing about 30 active projects. I would recommend having someone from Atlassian or a SME come to your office and help design your solution based on how you want to use it. I have been extremely pleased with the product suite that we have been using. I would be willing to come into your office and discuss/demo how we use it.

Atlassian Tools:

Jira with GreenHopper, Tempo, and Calendar plugins

Confluence

There is/was a KC AUG but not sure how active the group is at this point.

We are not.  Still focused on learning processes and practices via “low fidelity” tools and techniques.  However, I am interested in learning more about Jira and the Greenhopper plug-in and how Agile teams are leveraging it and its capabilities.  Possible discussion topic for KC Agile group?

My company is starting to use it quite a bit with the Greenhopper plug-in.  So far, it's gotten some very positive responses.

I have used JIRA in several organizations to varying degrees of success.   I would welcome a discussion of JIRA with other users for ideas on how to fill gaps from a project management side.

At Cerner, we have been using JIRA for a few years now. We started it as a bug tracking tool, but have since been using GreenHopper quite extensively. Earlier this year, we started using RapidBoards (https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/GH059/Using+the+Rapid+Board), which we are finding to be even more useful for managing projects. Some teams at Cerner also use VersionOne (http://www.versionone.com/) to manage their projects and in some cases are also using a combination of VersionOne and JIRA to manage their teams.

If there is interest, I am willing to do a session on how we use JIRA and integrating it with other tools such as VersionOne, GitHub, Crucible etc. at the one of the next KC Agile meetings.

Thanks,
Shahzad Zafar

I have working with JIRA for over 4 years now with different customers. I tried to use the Green Hopper plug in but noted that it was not as effective for project management as JIRA is for all aspects of issue tracking.

Have a nice day!!

Erik,

We have been using JIRA for at least 5+ years now at Waddell & Reed. Earlier this year we have started using the Agile (Scrum/Kanban) Green Hopper plugin for JIRA and we like it so far. I will be willing to talk you if you need anymore information.

Thanks,

Lionel
