Hi Coalition Members,
Our new Coalition website is just about ready to launch. We now have a
site we can all use. Take a peak by going to
'
www.getoutdoorsalaska.org'. We're still ironing out some of the kinks
with the contractor, but we're almost ready to get the word out to our
community about this new resource. Hopefully, 'Get Outdoors Alaska"
will become THE source of information for Juneau families to find out
about outdoor offerings throughout the year.
We are in the process of creating the events calendar, and need your
input. Please submit any/all outdoor events/activities or those events
related to connecting children and families with nature. Discovery
Southeast has generously offered to post these onto the website. Send
your event information to Grace at:
o...@discoverysoutheast.org
Please include the following information:
-Date/Time
-Location
-Ages
-Type of Activity (Educational, Recreational, Family, Youth Camp,
Club)
-Description
-Fee or Free
-Include photos if you'd like
Once the site is up and running, all of you will be able to post
events/activities directly. I will be providing a quick/easy training
for those of you who are interested in posting information to the
site.
We also want to be sure to include all of the Juneau Children Outdoors
Community Coalition member organizations. If your organization is not
listed under the 'partners', please let me know and we'll be sure to
add it.
Stay Tuned for the upcoming "Get Outdoors Juneau" radio spot on KTOO,
where we'll be able to make regular announcements about upcoming
events.
Have fun outside, the snow level is coming down fast!
