PETALING JAYA, April 21 — A woman was robbed and stabbed to death by two robbers while she was jogging with her daughter along the Bukit Gasing trail yesterday, The Star Online reported today.
The 52-year-old woman, who has been named as Ong Ai Sam, was with her daughter when two masked men wielding knives approached them at about 4.30pm.
As the men demanded for their belongings, Ong used herself as a shield to allow her 20-year-old daughter, who has not been named, to run for help.
Sources told the online portal that the suspects then stabbed Ong before escaping with her belongings.
She was rushed to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre after her daughter returned to find her lying in a pool of blood, but succumbed to her injuries on the way to hospital.
Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Arjunaidi Mohamad told The Star that police currently are collecting CCTV footage from nearby houses in a bid to identify the suspects in Ong’s murder soon.
