today's letter is U. This is a letter to You about You. The Fans,
the Friends 'o' Jon, the Loyalists. Because for all Jon's hard
work, where would he be without you guys? Nowhere. That's where. Or
Vermont. They're very similar. One has more maple syrup.
So what make you so great? Why do we appreciate you so much? You were
the ones who voted for him on American Idol. You went to see him on
the American Idol tour. You waited outside the venues to say hi and
tell him you were a big fan. And that helped Jon to believe in
himself, to know that he could do something he loved. And you, all of
you are to thank for that.
Some of you traveled thousands of miles to see Jon play. Some of you
have hung up posters. Some of you have passed out flyers. Some of you
have kept up websites and emailing lists. Some of you designed
t-shirts and buttons. Some of you photographed him. Some of you
scoured the internet for news and updates on Jon. Some of you went to
concerts. Some of you ordered the album as soon as you could get it.
Some of you contacted radio stations. Some of you wrote witty
newsletters that made some of you laugh and others want to exchange
their literacy for anything.
This is thanks to his family for supporting him through all of this.
Thanks to the friends who believed in him. Thanks to all those who
emailed others to get the word out and wrote him on Myspace and on his
website. Thanks to those who participated in contests and downloaded
music. Thanks to those who listened to Jon on their I-Pods, stereos,
computers, and even recorded him onto a tape to listen to him on a
Walkman. This letter is for all of you.
Thank you all. Jon thanks you. Keep cheering him on. Have a great
2007. It's the only one you get.
