Attention Students: The June Testing Schedule has been revised.
Please pick up a new schedule in the main office.
Bus Notes: If you’re taking a different bus home today, your bus note
should already be in the main office. If you haven’t submitted it
yet, you must do so now.
Staff & Teacher Appreciation Luncheon: Today in the library, periods
3-7. Join the PTSA to celebrate; come hungry and remember to return
after school for a to-go-box.
Attention Faculty: Each year, The Patriot Award is sponsored by the
John Jay Athletic Association offering a monetary award to a senior
who demonstrates the meaning of school spirit at John Jay. Please
check your email for details and the nomination form. Forms are also
in the main office; please ask Ms. Stufano. Deadline is Friday, May
31st.
AP Exams: If you are signed up for an AP Exam, you must be in the
main lobby by 7:05 a.m. for a morning exam and 11:05 a.m. for an
afternoon exam.
Cap & Gowns:
- Jostens will be here on Tuesday, May 14th, during all lunch periods
in the café lobby to deliver rings and to take late cap and gown
orders.
- Cap and gown distribution will take place on Tuesday, May 28th, 7:00
a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and Wednesday, May 29th, during all lunch periods in
room 112.
Scholarship Opportunity for Seniors: The JJ Athletic Association
Scholarship applications are in the main office. This scholarship is
awarded to one male and one female student meeting the following
criteria: minimum GPA with no failing grades in major subjects,
continued involvement in a JJ activity or sport, community
involvement, and continued education after high school. Applications
with attachments must be returned to the JJ Athletic Association
mailbox in the main office. Deadline is Friday, May 31st.
CLUBS & ACTIVITIES
Senior T-shirts: NHS will sell senior t-shirts today in the café
lobby during all lunch periods. Order forms are at the booth and the
cost is $15.
Yearbooks: Today is the last day to order a yearbook; periods 4-8 in
the yearbook office, room 130. The cost is $90. Checks payable to
John Jay H.S. Activity Fund, with "yearbook" and the student's name
written in the memo section.
Sophomore Class:
- Class of 2015 t-shirts on sale today during all lunch periods. Cost
is $10 and goes towards class activities.
- Dorney Park trip is almost full. Permission slips in the main
office. Last chance to be a part of the trip will be Tuesday, May
14th.
Peer Leadership: All students who applied to become a peer leader for
next year must attend a meeting today at 2:15 in room 225.
Powder Puff Game: Set for today, 5:00-7:00 p.m. Players need to
arrive at 4:30 p.m.
EFPD vs. JJ Teachers Basketball Game: Come support your favorite JJ
teachers as they look to defend their title against the East Fishkill
Police Department tonight at 7:00 in JJ’s gym.
Senior Prom:
- Invitations are in. If you purchased a ticket but didn’t get your
invite, please stop by room 225. Remember to bring your guest form.
- Committee meeting on Monday. Be sure to wear clothing for crafting.
Multicultural Fair: All groups performing in the Multicultural Fair
must meet on Monday after school in room M-1.
Concert Band: On Wednesday, May 15th, Concert Band will perform at
our annual Pyramid Concert. Students need to arrive by 6:30 p.m. The
concert begins at 7:00 p.m.
Senior Field Day: Set for Tuesday, May 28th, periods 3 – 8. Sign up
forms in the main office. Cost is $2.00 per player. Senior Breakfast
will be held periods 1 and 2. Support your college by wearing your
college shirt proudly!
SPORTS
Track: All track athletes running today must be ready in the gym
lobby at 12:45 p.m. Attendance has a list of athletes leaving school
early today.
Wappingers Crew Club: Good luck to Wappingers Crew as they travel to
Saratoga for the New York Rowing Championship this weekend.
