Tuesday May 28, 2013 Today is Day 5

Attention Students: Today’s gym classes must report to the
auditorium.

Mandatory Locker Clean Out: Begins today and runs through Friday
during 3rd period homeroom at 9:32 a.m. See your homeroom teacher
for your schedule.

Cap & Gowns: Cap and gown distribution will take place today, 7:00
a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and tomorrow during all lunch periods in room 112.

Used Clothing Collection: Please donate on June 1st at Van Wyck
Junior High, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Troop 10167 Booster Club will
receive a donation for the total poundage collected to help pay for an
educational tour of Europe.

CLUBS & ACTIVITIES

Senior T-shirts: Sale extended through Thursday.

Peer Leadership: Brief ten minute meeting today in room 202.

Senior Prom: On Friday, seniors must report to period 3 for
attendance and be escorted by their teacher to the auditorium for a
mandatory meeting for seniors only. BOCES students must see Ms. Dodge
on Thursday at 2:00 in room 225.

Community Service for JJ Beautification Day: Student Council invites
all students to help out on Wednesday, May 29th for JJ’s
Beautification Day. Please bring rakes, gloves and wear comfortable
clothing. Community service hours will be granted.

SPORTS

Track: At the Class A Championship meet, Dante Harris placed 4th in
100m dash and Megan Kohl placed 3rd in the high jump.

Girls Basketball: Mandatory meeting for girls interested in playing
basketball on June 3rd at 5:30 p.m. in the gym. Any questions see
Coach Bianco in the PE Office.

office, room 130, during periods 4 through 8 starting today. We will
stay open while supplies last. The cost is $90, cash only; we cannot
accept checks at this time.

US History & Government Regents Review: Today after school in room
143A.

Debate Club: Meeting today after school in room 229.

Community Service for JJ Beautification Day: Student Council invites
all students to help out today for JJ’s Beautification Day. Please
bring rakes, gloves and wear comfortable clothing. Community service
hours will be granted.

National Honor Society: Thursday, May 30th, is the last day to order
senior t-shirts. Order form and sample shirt are in the main office.

Multicultural: Last meeting of the year is tomorrow at 2:00 in room
M1.

Scholarship Opportunity for Seniors: The JJ Athletic Association
Scholarship applications are in the main office. Deadline is
Friday.

Blood Drive: Today in the gym. If you signed up to donate, please
arrive the period you committed to with your signed forms. If you are
going during class, remember you must have a signed note from a
teacher.

Literacy Connections Spelling Bee at Marist College: Congratulations
to Kanthi Bommareddy and Jimmy Caffrey. They tied with Rhinebeck for
the best high school team. Jimmy Jiang and Frank Rocco won for best
team name, “Spellcasters”.

Elysium Magazine 2013: On sale now…look for any Elysium member or see
Ms. Bogumil.

have an exam conflict, meaning that you have one or more exam at same
time, you must notify your teachers.

Ms. Tarby’s 4th Period Study Hall: Meet in room 128, the large group
instruction room, today.

Yearbooks: Yearbooks are being distributed and sold in the yearbook
office, room 130, during periods 4 through 8 while supplies last. The
cost is $90, cash only; we cannot accept checks at this time.

NHS:
- Officer candidate interviews will run today, 2:00-4:00, in room
240. Please see posted list outside the Math Office for your time.
- Members who volunteered for senior award night, please see posted
list outside the Math Office as we only need five volunteers.

- Please put recycle bins outside your classroom after period 8.
- Meeting at 2:00 in room 128.

Attention Students taking Exams during Exam Week: As per the NYS
Education Department, students are prohibited from bringing cell
phones and other electronic devices into any testing room. Please
plan accordingly. In the event an electronic device is brought into
an examination room, you will receive a zero for your exam.

Room Assignments for Exams: Have been posted on the bulletin board by
room 128. Please check for your exam and room assignment. If you
have an exam conflict, meaning that you have one or more exam at same
time, you must notify your teachers.
