The Big Dig in Enos Jones

Saturday October 22nd, starting at 9am, we will be planting 200 bulbs
(I think they are mostly daffodils) in the raised bed with the plaque
that is right outside the playground, along Brunswick Street. (So
everyone, feel free to acquire bulbs for the John DeSalvo Community
Garden! Maybe we would have time to plant our own bulbs the same day.)
The Big Dig site was chosen by the Jersey City Parks Coalition who are
coordinating this city-wide event - and it is a spot that really needs
some beautification!
We need volunteers to help out with the planting, if you want to
participate as a registered volunteer, please contact Jenny before

Apparently, registered volunteers will be treated to a post-planting
luncheon at the Liberty Science Center, starting at noon on the 22nd.
Also, please note that participating students will be given community
service certificates for helping out on the 22nd. Certificates are for
3 hours of community service unless otherwise indicated.
We also need to prepare the site ahead of time, i.e. dig it up, turn
the soil and sort out the weeds. If you have time to help out with the
digging, please let me know!
