...and the bulbs we planted in the fall are almost ready to bloom! We
had a generous offer from the Hamilton Park Neighborhood Association -
thank you so much! - so Beth and I will be going plant shopping in the
coming week. Mostly perennials I think; some of the lavenders and
coreopsis need replacing and we still didn't find reseeding
Hollyhocks.

If you have suggestions, post them here and I will look them up in
terms of toxicity.

I will also let you know what day we will be in the garden to plant.
Enjoy the weekend!

So today we planted the perennials we got the other day, if I remember right they were tickseed, scabiosa, a couple of threadleaf coreopsis, four cranesbill geraniums, two more bugleweed and sweet woodruff for the shade area under the tree. We plan to add lavenders and hollyhocks too when they are available.

I also started some annual seeds indoors, we shall see...

As this group is somewhat obscure, Beth and I also talked about making a facebook page for the garden, any thoughts?

Have a good weekend!
Jenny

Well done, ladies. You braved this nasty weather and luckily didn't need to use the water key afterall.

Apologies, my husband had gotten sick and I was on business out of town so I never picked up mulch... Still need me to?

As for a FB Page, that sounds nice. Who is willing to maintain it? I won't offer my help as I barely take time to go on mine :( sorry.

Beth and I will set it up and maintain. Doesn'thave  to be compex, just location, pictures, announcements whenever something is going on. Credit to donors. Is the $200 for the garden from HPNA or Goldman Sachs, speaking of that?

Sounds good :)
Through the HPNA, neighbor Kevin Lo of Pavonia Ave lead a group of volunteers from Goldman Sachs to clean-up the park. Goldman Sachs then issued HPNA money.
