This is a letter from the YAV coordinator in Tucson.  Please add your support against the Arizona immigraiton law

Well friends,

Sadly, it is being reported that Governor Jan Brewer signed SB1070 this morning, ushering in both a sad era in AZ history as well as an opportunity to stand in solidarity with the people most negatively affected by this law.

I urge you to go to 1070ipledge.net, a web page launched just today, to sign a pledge of non-compliance with this legislation. You can read our statement of purpose, the bill itself as well as statements and editorials that reveal the folly of the AZ legislature and our Governor. Of particular note, is a statement by Rev. Jim Wallace of the Sojourner Community in Washington D.C. calling on all people of faith to practice their Gospel values by resisting this measure.

I also urge you to forward this message to as many of your contacts and networks as possible. Folks who live in other state should sign this pledge, their addresses will appear with their signature. After all Comprehensive Immigration Reform and the prospect of this kind of legislation being sought in other states is a NATIONAL issue, not a border issue.

Thank you for your prayers and your actions as we together resist this unconstitutional and mean spirited law.
