Ok, we've all seen some godawful movie monsters such as the alien from
"The Creeping Terror", Ro-man from "Robot Monster" and who could
forget no matter how hard one may try "Zontar, the Thing from Venus".
That said Tabonga the dreaded "tree monster" rises to new heights
(literally) in "From Hell it Came" (1957).
A young island prince unjustly gets his ticket punched by the evil
tribal witchdoctor. Before dying though the prince vows to return
after he's buried/planted. And return he does. The surprising nimble
plant plods around the island terrorizing the natives and scientists
from the US who are there on a mission of mercy.
The end is easy to figure but, came to soon for me with only a 71
minute running time. "From Hell it Came" is about as bad/magnificent
as a movie can be. An absolute must see for folks that enjoy a true B-
movie. A cheese filled classic in every way. BEWARE TOBONGA !!
4 outta 5,
