Since my 'replying' isn't working out too well, I'm just going to try it all here... "new" Google groups - "old" Google groups... maybe it's a software incompatibility thing - but I can't reply well, can't find who the members still are, and who's moderating, etc., and it's a bit frustrating.
.) VON -- Welcome back! Great to see you... thanks for the Joe Bob update -- and if you want to moderate, I'd be all for it. It seems to me that whoever was officially moderating just hasn't been here... otherwise, the person who had co-opted our list and was literally killing it with huge, lengthy daily posts and forwards of content/other lists which were of no interest to at least 8/10ths of our members, (initially well-meant though it may have been..?), would never have gotten so far...
.) I'm not agitating for the group to move anywhere... ( I would personally have preferred Yahoo to Google, as you can see at a glance who the moderator is, who the members are, and you can instant-private-message anyone or even set up a group chat -- which are nice features -- also the threads seem easier to follow and respond to... but it's no big thing.) Plus, there's the difficulty of someone having to send a message to all the members advising of a move, and everyone having to change venues and re-up, and all...? Funny -- I no longer remember why we moved here, after our first few spots, aside from TNT bailing on Joe Bob, of course...
.) If a move IS preferred by our members, NOTHING would induce me to set up a facebook account... so if that were chosen as a new group site, I'd be out by default.
.) TYGER - thanks for contacting RaQ... and I hope she does make a return!
.) Just as a FYI... if you haven't been to the Internet Archives, you're missing a great, *free* resource of music and public-domain movies. Check it out:
