ANOTHER EARTH

2011-this was described as a profound sci-fi drama-it was bullshit with little sci-fi-

i am not really sure how i managed to watch the whole thing.

this movie started out with narration.  for me, this is almost certainly a death knell for any flick.

rhoda is a brilliant student.  17   accepted at m.i.t.  wants to be an astrophysicist.

drunk.  she hits another car.  kills wife and daughter of one john burroughs.  he survives and is in a coma for some time.

after 4 years in prison rhoda is released.  plagued by guilt, she's given up on her dreams.

earth 2 has been discovered,  it seems to be an exact duplicate of earth.  an expedition is planned.  win a trip.

most of this movie has nothing really to do with going to earth 2.

it revolves around rhoda attempting to confront burroughs with who she is.  she ends up pretending to be from a cleaning service.  the form a relationship.  must fuck, of course.

about the last 15 minutes involves going to earth 2 with predictable ending.  this was an excruciating experience.

a lot of yapping and camera shots of rhoda doing stuff.  there was a guy giving some stream of conscience yapping in the background periodically.

perhaps i am just too obtuse to get it.
